Seagate DiscWizard is an integrated software suite powered by Acronis software that allows you to easily clone your entire hard drive, back up data, and manage partitions. Drive cloning copies everything—operating system, apps, settings, and personal files—from an old drive directly to a new SSD or HDD. This process eliminates the need to reinstall Windows from scratch. ⚠️ Crucial Rules Before You Begin
Seagate Hardware Requirement: At least one Seagate or LaCie drive must be connected to your computer for the software to run. If you only have Western Digital, Samsung, or Crucial drives, the program will lock you out.
Entire Disk Only: DiscWizard cannot clone single, isolated partitions. It will only mirror an entire basic disk layout.
Basic vs. Dynamic: The software only supports Basic Disks. Dynamic Disks cannot be cloned using this utility.
Capacity Rule: The target drive’s storage capacity must be larger than the total amount of used space on your source drive. 💻 Step 1: Physical Setup
Before launching the application, you must connect both hard drives to your system simultaneously:
For Desktops: Connect the new drive internally using a SATA or M.2 NVMe slot on the motherboard.
For Laptops: Use a USB external enclosure, SATA-to-USB adapter, or docking station to attach the new drive. 💿 Step 2: The Cloning Process Seagate DiscWizard – How to Create a Disk Image | Clone
