TrueIP Basic Edition vs. Pro: Which Version Should You Choose?

TrueIP Basic Edition is a lightweight, bare-bones network utility developed by HazteK Software designed for a single purpose: to permanently display your current external IP address on your screen. It strips away the advanced automated features of the standard TrueIP software in favor of pure, minimalist visibility. Core Functionality

Permanent Visibility: Designed to stay on your screen or minimize directly to the taskbar to show your public IP at a glance.

Visual Customization: Supports basic interface tweaks including window positioning, sizing, background colors, and custom text fonts.

Taskbar Integration: Works best when Windows taskbar labels are set to “never hide,” allowing the IP to be constantly read directly from the minimized bar. Key Omissions (Compared to Standard TrueIP)

Unlike the full version of HazteK’s TrueIP application, the Basic Edition does not include any of the following features:

No Notifications: It cannot send emails, update via FTP, trigger pop-up dialogs, or post to a custom URL when an IP changes.

No Dynamic DNS Updates: It will not automatically communicate with DDNS providers to keep domain records up to date.

No IP Logging: It does not keep a historical log of past IP addresses for later review.

If you need automated scripts or remote access monitoring, the standard TrueIP Application is a better choice. TrueIP Basic is strictly meant as a quick, low-resource visual reference tool.
